World Book Day

World Book Day

On Thursday 1st March we will be celebrating World Book Day. To help celebrate this event we would like all of the children to dress up as one of their favourite characters from a book. There is no need to buy expensive costumes as often the best outfits are those that have been put together at home with props the children already have. There are good ideas for costumes on the internet, pinterest has lots of 'no sew' home made costume ideas. We would like to ask that the costumes are based on book characters rather than from films or television programmes. We look forward to seeing the children’s costumes.

During World Book Day children will have the opportunity to visit other classrooms to hear teachers and teaching assistants read extracts from their favourite children’s books.

Your child will recieve a £1 World Book Day token next half term. The £1 World Book Day token can be used at participating bookshops. For more information visit

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Walker (Reading Leader)
