Art

Art is taught as a distinct subject following the National Curriculum as well as being linked with other areas of the curriculum e.g.: topic work or Computing. The units of study are intended to offer progressive experiences of different materials and ways of working.

Emphasis is also placed on careful observation both in drawing and painting. This assists in the organisation of thought, ideas and interpretation to enable children to express themselves in a creative way.

Children will also have the opportunities to research, discuss and emulate the work of established artists and architects.
